Assalamu alaikum,
My husband and I are keen to study in Saudi Arabia however we are both above the age of 40.
What do you suggest on how to go about achieving our dream of studying Islam and Arabic at our age in Saudi.
Wa ‘alaykum as-salaamu wa rahmatullaah. May Allah give you success! I’d suggest for those over 25: Either find employment or investment opportunities that will allow you some free time to attend classes with the scholars in the evenings. Employment is more for those who have MA degrees or higher, and investment is for everyone else, but you need to be serious and save up $50k+ to invest in a business and be serious about growing and maintaining that business as your dayjob. May Allaah give you success!
Assalaamu ‘alaykkum .
A salafi taalib told me that one can pray behind an imam who permits and practices istigaatha biS SaaliHeen until the hujjah is established. I don’t understand this. If the act is shirkun akbar then how can we pray behind him?
Assalamu alaikum,
It would be a dream fulfileld to study deen at any of these universities, but how do I get a recommendation if I’m not known in the community? Do you think I should try to volunteer at a masjid? [i’m in Bham, UK] Some advice would be appreciated!
All these universities require a Diploma, for a personal reason I didn’t get a Diploma. So me and my wife we can’t apply for any universities, but we really want to seek knowledge in Saudi Arabia. What would be your advice? How do people do Hijra there and seek Islamic knowledge while they are older than 25 years old. Is there any way to seek that knowledge beside the universities? Barakallahu feekum
